POETRY PROJECT 2005 ISLAND PORTRAITS

An Island Portrait can show how we see ourselves – our past, present, and what we hope to become. An Island Portrait may depict something of our Island culture, landscape, history, personality, or passion. Write an Island Portrait about what you see and what you imagine.

Selected poems are displayed on Kitsap transit bus placards, posted on the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal passenger walkway, displayed in local businesses, printed on grocery bags, presented at the local theatre before movies, published in a book, and featured at a poetry reading. Selected artists received an honorarium of $125 for use of poems.

The Poetry Presentation and Reception was held Sunday afternoon, April 24, 2:00 pm at City Hall.
